Reflections from the Night Before

J-Dawg
my bro from another ho
Puck
Did you get the name of that naiad last night?
J-Dawg
Are you fucking kidding me? I should punch you in the junk rn. My M O T H E R is livid
Puck
Oh, that explains a few things.
Puck
Uh, can you get someone with fire magic to come and help me de-ice the walls?

You wake up a little bleary-eyed and fuzzy-minded. It's strange. You don't really remembering overindulging last night, and yet here you are with the distinct sense that somehow you weren't making the best decisions. Faerie magic is funny like that.

But it's probably fine. It's not like you made any really poor life decisions, right? Like drunk-mirroring your fellow Faewild guests?

Oh. Oh no.

Better check your messages, and see what's in your Reflections from the Night Before.

All right, dears, you know the drill. Your characters have found themselves firing off (perhaps) ill-advised texts. Choose from the horrifying archive of text based debauchery or craft your own bespoke messages.

[ He was working on it, he'd get his powers back any time now and then when he did, Wednesday would have some rather high powered stuff. In addition he was all for teaching her his craft if she was open to it; because he believed wholly in self-sufficiency.

It'd be like the Nightmare Before Christmas toymaking extravaganza. ]

I think that my powers are sentimental in nature?
My father taught me the craft so it's passed on, I think that I would like to veer away from toys, perhaps work more with steam and weaponry, such as ballistas and rocket launchers.

[ Please teach him about weapons from Wednesday's world, he desires to learn more. ]

[Wednesday doesn't want her powers back. There's no good that could come from seeing any tragic pasts or terrible futures. Especially in this place.]

I suppose I can understand that. I have very little sentimentality about my powers. They are hereditary, but I can assure you that they've done as much harm as they have good.

Ballistae and rocket launchers are two ends of the same spectrum. How does someone from a world stuck in medieval science know about rocket launchers?

Well there is a series of books that I am very fond of, granted they are a bit on the futuristic side. [ It's likely someone wrote it who has access to the multiverse, as sometimes portals within the Great Wheel could find certain things pushed through it. ] Written in it are some aerodynamic wonders, space travel and of course a profusion of technology powered by steam and at points energy.

[ He was a nerd and has probably gotten his hands on a few nerdy volumes here and there that most people would find too complex or boring ]

I think that the desire to further and advance civilization is not an uncommon one, just misunderstood.

Interesting to thing that the genre of science fiction would be available in what we would call a fantasy world where I'm from. Then, do you know about fossil fuels and the like?

[Hey there, Fellow Nerds. Let's talk nerd shit, I guess.]

I disagree. While the advancement of civilization appears noble on the surface, it is usually fueled by darker, baser ambitions in mind, glossed over with shellac to appear noble. Most people just want to be in power in my experience and they don't care who or what they have to stand on to get that power. Especially if it makes other people revere them.

They're mot misunderstood or even misguided. They're delusional about their own true desires.

[ Talking to Wednesday was like reading a book, it was something that Rainier enjoyed doing because she managed to get to these hard-hitting narratives, things that made really good stories. History was peppered with the human experience, and sometimes those experiences erred on the side of what could be considered darker.

Cautionary Tales, throughout history we've been given guidebooks with which to cartograph our lives. It's interesting to see the same themes we have seen in books, and correlate them to what appears in history.

Stories are never really stories, are they? But I think that I would like to see how far technology could go in the right hands; yes perhaps it's inviting doom and it's nearly impossible to curate knowledge between those who should and those who shouldn't, but I have seem some amazing things being invented-- such as steam-powered vehicles, which I think around 80 years was not even thought of.

It makes me wish I was elven so I could be around for the next 80 years to see what comes next.

It's only interesting for those who are smart enough to read the books and recognize the guard rails. The majority of people are too self-absorbed to bother to realize that stupidity travels in circles throughout history.

And you're far too naive. I don't really trust anyone with that much power not to abuse it. History tells me that the naive ones get used by the immoral creatures that have no problem hurting others to get their place in the stories.

Although, there have been a great deal of leaps and bounds in technology in my world over the last century. I think I would have been happier being born around the time of my grandparents, to be honest.
