Reflections from the Night Before

J-Dawg
my bro from another ho
Puck
Did you get the name of that naiad last night?
J-Dawg
Are you fucking kidding me? I should punch you in the junk rn. My M O T H E R is livid
Puck
Oh, that explains a few things.
Puck
Uh, can you get someone with fire magic to come and help me de-ice the walls?

You wake up a little bleary-eyed and fuzzy-minded. It's strange. You don't really remembering overindulging last night, and yet here you are with the distinct sense that somehow you weren't making the best decisions. Faerie magic is funny like that.

But it's probably fine. It's not like you made any really poor life decisions, right? Like drunk-mirroring your fellow Faewild guests?

Oh. Oh no.

Better check your messages, and see what's in your Reflections from the Night Before.

All right, dears, you know the drill. Your characters have found themselves firing off (perhaps) ill-advised texts. Choose from the horrifying archive of text based debauchery or craft your own bespoke messages.

Ol' Jericho Sticks | Legends of Avantris: Edge of Midnight

[personal profile] mostfolkdo 2024-04-18 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[ ooc: still working my way through the campaign... please no spoilers for anything beyond episode 6! ]

  1. Remind me to tell you what I found stuck to me this morning.

  2. Well, golly! That was the most beautifully crafted sentence I've ever read that involved the phrase "genitals or whatever."

  3. Based on the conversation, I'm going to assume you didn't close the deal. When did it start going awry? Was it when you fell through the roof?

  4. I just woke up to three voicemails from you. In the first one you just laughed for three straight minutes. In the second, you did bird calls. In the third you were hysterically crying. Did you have fun last night?

  5. And I'll be dreaming of you! Not in a creepy way, but in an inappropriate way.

  6. I told Virgil about the other night and he actually whistled and said "wow that is not good."

  7. text him!

3 hello!

If Briggsy hadn't fired his weapon I never would have been startled in the first place!

hi! ...sob I am lacking in icons

[personal profile] mostfolkdo 2024-04-18 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, the problem with that is that if Briggsy hadn't've fired his weapon, then Filthy Jasper might've gotten him!
alwaysaid: (Default)

No worries, I just ripped mine straight from Castlevania

[personal profile] alwaysaid 2024-04-19 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I understand. Merely relaying the chain of events leading to falling through said roof.

[Marius is utterly incapable of being smooth. We all know this. His rizz is purely accidental]

Are you alright, Sir Marius? That WAS a mighty big fall you took...
alwaysaid: (pic#17127192)

[personal profile] alwaysaid 2024-04-20 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I am fine. What about you? How do you fare?
mostfolkdo: (Default)

[personal profile] mostfolkdo 2024-04-20 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I'll be alright. I'm keeping my feet on terra firma, as you like. I leave the aerial maneuvers to Virgil. He's much better at taking off and landing than I am.

[personal profile] alwaysaid 2024-04-22 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[He tries not to use or say Virgil's name for his own personal reasons. There's something about the crow that deeply unsettles him]

I'm glad you're alright. I don't have anything left in me for healing.

[ There's something about the crow that deeply unsettles Jericho too, but he doesn't have much choice in the matter. ]

Please, Sir Marius, focus any spare healing you have to give on yourself. You took quite a tumble there. I've no need of being mended at the moment.

Sorry, I’m afraid you might have contacted the wrong person.

[personal profile] mostfolkdo 2024-04-18 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I'm sorry! Are you not Briggsy? Virgil told me I was contacting Briggsy!

Gee, golly... I'm still getting the hang of this fancy mirror thingamajig. I'm sorry for bothering you!

What's your name, kind stranger?
makingmyway: (pic#16015763)

[personal profile] makingmyway 2024-04-19 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
Nothing to apologize for. Getting the hang of these mirrors can be rather tricky at first. I’ve been here for a while myself and I still feel like I’m trying to get used to them.

My name is Dorian.
mostfolkdo: (Default)

[personal profile] mostfolkdo 2024-04-20 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, now, it's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Dorian. My name is Ol' Jericho Sticks, but you can call me Jericho. Most folk do.

You're saying you've been here for a while, then? What sorta place is this? There aren't any creepy haunted houses or witches terrorizing villages and the like, are there?
makingmyway: (pic#16003748)

[personal profile] makingmyway 2024-04-20 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
A pleasure to meet you as well, Jericho. Just Dorian is fine, though, the formality isn't necessary.

I haven't seen any haunted houses yet. And while there aren't witches per say, there are plenty of fae folk that can cause trouble around here.
mostfolkdo: (turkey in the hay)

[personal profile] mostfolkdo 2024-04-20 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Dorian it is, then! Thank you kindly for giving me the low-down. I can't say I've run into many fae folk in my time, but I've heard they can be tricky! Is it true what they say?
makingmyway: (Uncertain)

[personal profile] makingmyway 2024-04-20 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
For the most part, I'd say yes. There are all sorts of fae, though, and some are a little more troublesome than others. Even so, it does help to be careful around them, because you can never really be sure what might change their mood.
mostfolkdo: (a tune called turkey in the straw)

[personal profile] mostfolkdo 2024-04-21 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Guess I'll have to tread carefully and watch my step!

Though, I don't suppose these fae folk can be swayed to kindness with a little ditty, can they?
makingmyway: (pic#16015763)

[personal profile] makingmyway 2024-04-21 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
Well…I did once have a rap battle with a certain fae that resulted in receiving a gift of ale. So I think it’s possible.
Edited 2024-04-21 03:25 (UTC)
mostfolkdo: music (and hit 'em up)

[personal profile] mostfolkdo 2024-04-21 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
A rap battle?! So you were dispersing diverse verses? Did you have to rehearse?
makingmyway: (Amused)

[personal profile] makingmyway 2024-04-22 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
No time to rehearse, it was spur of the moment
But I still found some words that seemed to be potent
Won the fae over with some wit and some charm
And things turned out fine, no need for alarm
mostfolkdo: (and I couldn't get across)

[personal profile] mostfolkdo 2024-04-24 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Well, gawrsh, mister Dorian! You really are a poet!
Sorry... Dorian...

[ It can be hard for Jericho to drop formality, sometimes. ]

Your talent is great to be sure
Out of four stars, I'd rate you a four
If it's not now too late, I want more!
There can be no debate! Please, encore!
makingmyway: (pic#16142115)

[personal profile] makingmyway 2024-05-07 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Well I do happen to have more in store
If an encore is what you're looking for
But rhymes like these are better with sound
So perhaps sometime I'll see you around

Yes well, I am something of a poet, by trade.
mostfolkdo: (Default)

[personal profile] mostfolkdo 2024-04-20 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
And a talented one, at that! I was mighty impressed, I must say. I'm something of a troubadour as well-- I play a little banjo now and again, and sing a jaunty tune-- but poetry is something I lay no claim of mastery over.
